The conference will be held in a peaceful and stunning location in one of the most captivating cities in Italy – Palermo.
Palermo is the capital of the Sicilian region in Italy. It is located in the northwest of the island, overlooking the Gulf of Palermo in the Tyrrhenian Sea. Throughout history, Palermo has always been a place where different perspectives have been presented and discussed to find balanced and sustainable solutions.

Conference Venue
The University of Palermo will host EWRA 2025 in the Aula Magna (Building 7) of the Department of Engineering and the Polididattico (Building 19).
The conference venue, located at Viale delle Scienze, is easily accessible by bus from the city center or the central station (routes 104, 108, 118) and by metro (Palazzo Reale/Orleans station).
BUS SERVICE
The ticket for the buses (operated by AMAT) is available from tobacco vendors, some bars and some news’ agents (or the AMAT kiosk in Via Libertà next to Politeama), and it is valid for 90′ (ninety) minutes.
You must stamp the ticket in one of the machines near the entrances of the vehicle upon boarding the first bus you take using that ticket. The ticket price is € 1.40 for 90 minutes.
METRO SERVICE
The ticket for the metro (operated by Trenitalia), in the metropolitan area of Palermo, is available in metro stations and it is valid for a single ride.
You must stamp the ticket in one of the machine in the metro station or buy it via Trenitalia app before boarding the metro. The ticket price is €2 per single ride.

Palermo International Airport
Palermo International Airport is located about 35 km from the city center. During the summer, it becomes quite busy, offering direct flights to almost all European countries, as Palermo and Sicily are major tourist destinations.

How to reach Palermo city centre from Palermo airport:
BY CAR
Palermo Airport is connected to the city centre via the A29 highway (about 35 km, i.e. 40–45 min drive).
BY TAXI
A taxi service is available at the Arrivals exit, coordinated with flight arrival times.

BY TRAIN
The train service to and from the airport operates daily. The railway station is located on the underground level of the terminal.

The ticket price from Palermo Aeroporto to Palermo Centrale (Central Railway Station) is €6.80.
BY BUS
The Autolinee Prestia e Comandè bus connects Palermo Airport to the city center, with multiple stops along the route.
