The Gala Dinner will be held in the elegant setting of Villa Airoldi (https://www.villaairoldieventi.it/), a noble and historic residence built in the 18th century in the heart of Palermo, adjacent to the city’s historic park, La Favorita. Construction of the villa began in the early 1700s under Girolamo Reggio, Marquis of Ginestra, and was completed in the second half of the century by Stefano Ajroldi, President of the Gran Corte. The first floor hosts refined halls, including a ballroom adorned with neoclassical frescoes by Giuseppe Crestadoro, featuring scenes such as The Presentation of Psyche to Jupiter and The Council of the Gods. Surrounded by a park, the villa now houses the Palermo Golf Club and was once a royal hunting ground for King Ferdinand IV.

A respectful dress code is required. Shorts, flip-flops, beachwear, and similar informal clothing are not permitted.

Attendance at the Gala Dinner is included for all participants who have expressed their interest in attending during the registration process and registered under the following categories:

  • Early/Regular registration for EWRA/non-EWRA members
  • Early/Regular registration for students (with GALA dinner)
  • Early/Regular Registration for 1-Day participation (WITH Gala Dinner)
  • Early/Regular registration for accompanying persons

All other attendees who wish to join the Gala Dinner are kindly asked to contact the organizing committee by email at ewra2025@ewra.net no later than 15 June 2025, in order to check seat availability.

Each eligible participant will receive a personal invitation ticket at the conference registration desk.
Please do not lose this personal invitation, as it will be required to enter the event.
The EWRA2025 staff will monitor access to ensure only authorized attendees are admitted.

How to reach Gala Dinner venue

By BUS

From Piazza Politeama (next to the Theatre), you may take:

  • Bus No. 101 or Bus No. 106

From Piazza Crispi, you may take:

  • Bus No. 806

Bus tickets are valid for 90 minutes and cost €1.40.
They can be purchased at the AMAT kiosk located on Via Libertà, near Piazza Politeama.
Remember to stamp your ticket upon boarding, using the validation machines inside the bus.

By METRO

You can take the Palermo metropolitan railway from one of the following stations near the conference venue:

Take a train toward Palermo Notarbartolo. Once there, transfer to the line heading to Palermo Giachery and get off at Palermo Libertà station.

Metro tickets are valid for a single ride and cost €2.00.
They can be purchased at Trenitalia ticket machines inside the stations or via the Trenitalia app. Tickets must be validated at the station before boarding.

Shuttle Service – Return from the Gala Dinner

At the end of the event, a reserved shuttle bus service will be available for participants. The shuttle will depart from Villa Airoldi and head toward the city center.

The final stop will be at Piazza Castelnuovo – Teatro Politeama.

Maximum total capacity: 50 seats for each bus (2 buses × 2 round trips).
