Technical Field Trip: Visit to the Stagnone of Marsala and Wine Tasting
Departure from Palermo is scheduled for approximately 8:00 AM, with transfer to the Stagnone of Marsala.
The first stop will be at the “Ettore and Infersa Salt Pans“.
Here, you will visit the 16th-century Infersa windmill, followed by a guided tour through the evocative landscape of the Stagnone Nature Reserve. Expert salt-tourism guides will accompany you along the way, explaining the fascinating life cycle and management of a salt pan, its production capacity, and the rhythms of salt harvesting.
Duration of the visit: approximately 1 hour.
Following the visit to the salt pans, there will be a short transfer to a local winery in Marsala.
During the winery tour, you will learn about the historical and economic importance of wine production in the province of Trapani, particularly around Marsala. The visit will conclude with a standing lunch featuring a tasting of several local wines, including the renowned fortified Marsala wine.
In the afternoon, the group will return to Palermo by bus.
If time permits, a stop in the historic center of Trapani may be added to the itinerary (to be confirmed).
